The 5th International Samoan Tatau Festival
Samoa Tourism Authority Fale
Samoa is a beautiful tropical paradise located in the South Pacific Ocean. The country is rich in culture, history, legend, and known for it’s beautiful landscape and climate.
One of the most legendary parts of Samoan culture are the Tattoos or Tatau that represent the spiritual and cultural heritage of the islands.
The International Samoan Tatau Festival is a celebration of the Samoan culture and importance of Tatau in the Samoan Heritage. It is also a celebration of how tatau has passed down through generations and has transcended geographical boundaries to connect the international tattooing community back to its origins and by doing so enhancing the beauty of the art. This is reflected in this year’s theme being “From Roots to Rebirth: Celebrating the Art”. Run by the Suluape family in Samoa in partnership with the Malofie a Samoa (Tatau) Association, the Festival creates an amazing celebration of both Samoan culture and tatau and provides people from all over the world a chance to experience the traditional Tatau experience.
Come join us May 30th – June 7th, 2012 and experience traditional Samoan Tatau first-hand.
